Two Foster Teens Take a Step Toward a Brighter Future

Behind every certificate is more than completion it represents resilience, growth, and the courage to believe in something better.

For Mollie and Richard, that belief became tangible.

When their foster mother, Mary, was connected to AAI’s Catapult program through donor-supported resources, it opened the door to something meaningful not just for the kids, but for their entire family. What started as access to a tool became a pathway to confidence, structure, and possibility.

Today, Mollie and Richard proudly hold their Certificates of Completion. Each one reflects the time, effort, and determination they invested and the support system that stood behind them along the way.

As Mary shared:
“Mollie and her brother both enjoyed and benefited from the Catapult program. It was a wonderful resource that you guys provided for them! It is a huge thing for our family to have these resources.”

Moments like these are a reminder that real change doesn’t happen in isolation it happens through community. Because of continued support, families like theirs gain access to tools that build confidence, strengthen skills, and open doors to brighter futures.

Advancing Equitable Workforce Readiness in Seattle

This week, the American Access Institute (AAI) team is proud to be on the ground in Seattle participating in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) / Deloitte Social Entrepreneur Accelerator.
The experience marks another important step forward in our mission to expand workforce readiness opportunities for vulnerable youth across the country.

As we collaborate with industry leaders, innovators, and fellow changemakers, we are refining our strategy, strengthening partnerships, and exploring new ways to scale meaningful impact. Together, we are helping shape a future where equitable career education is more accessible, personalized, and effective for every young person.

Pictured today at the Microsoft campus are AAI Curriculum Systems Architect Dr. Laura McReavy Hearnsberger, Board Member Altrese Hawkins-Gopie, M.S., M.B.A., and AAI Co-founder Jason Palmer.

As our organization continues to evolve, we remain deeply focused on leveraging ethical AI to create personalized pathways supported by digital mentors. In collaboration with groundbreaking innovation from the Institute for Creative Technologies at the University of Southern California, we are developing tools designed to meet underserved youth where they are with guidance, opportunity, and support tailored to their unique journeys.

By placing these technologies directly into the hands of young people who need them most, we aim to help transform adversity into opportunity and trauma into trajectory. We believe technology should serve as a bridge to inclusion and empowerment not a privilege reserved for a select few.

We are energized by the conversations happening this week and inspired by others working across the social impact ecosystem to bridge the digital divide and create sustainable pathways for the next generation.

AAI’s Founder: A 10-Year Journey in EdTech Innovation

This work doesn’t happen by chance it’s driven by a commitment to innovation and collaboration.

This month, AAI’s founder returned to the ASU+GSV Summit in San Diego, a global gathering focused on the future of education and workforce development. Having participated for more than a decade, this space continues to fuel new ideas, partnerships, and solutions aimed at expanding access and opportunity.

Images from 2016 and 2026 tell a quiet but powerful story one of consistency, growth, and a mission that continues to evolve while staying rooted in purpose.

For our founder Dr. Pamela M. Donnelly, that mission is clear: to use technology as a force for good. With the support of donors and partners, we are building solutions that help transform trauma into resilience creating new trajectories for youth impacted by foster care, juvenile justice involvement, homelessness, poverty, and addiction.

Being part of this journey means investing in something bigger: a future where access, dignity, and opportunity are not limited by circumstance.
